We have recently installed in CALINSA quarry, located near Pamplona, an installation to exploit the loam from the primary pre-screening process.
CALINSA belongs to the LHOIST group, largest producer of lime worldwide, and its objective was a better classification of the loam from the primary discs pre-screener to exploit the fraction bigger than 36mm contained.
We have installed a vibrating screen VS-108-II, equipped with a Ø65mm perforated steel sheet in the upper deck and a 40mm lower deck.
The presence of a large quantity of wet and sticky clay needs a high acceleration of the particles in the screening process to avoid clogging. This circumstance was also considered when designing the feeding chutes for each equipment.
